Pakistan update

Following the floods which devastated Pakistan in August 2010, SOLIDAR members have been present in the country running humanitarian projects. Swiss member, Swiss Labour Assistance’s activities include the now finished project of the distribution of 2,100 tool-kits and is currently putting up 800 transitional shelters incl. sanitation facilities with winterisation kits in Kyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). They are also starting a new project to distribute bedding, kitchen and tool-kits in Punjab, one-room shelters with sanitation facilities in Punjab, and livelihood/income-generation project in KPK. SLA’s activities are being supported by other SOLIDAR members: OBG Luxemburg; AWO International; NPA; Apheda; FOS SOCSOL Belgium; Volkshilfe Austria.
