Overview

The call for a more social Europe is at the core of SOLIDAR’s activities. SOLIDAR’s members contribute to a social Europe through their daily work as civil society organisations and social service providers – in Europe and worldwide. Today’s challenge is how to reconcile the move towards economically competitive societies in a globalised world with the adequate social protection needed by citizens.

For SOLIDAR, Social Europe should be:

		A Europe 2020 Strategy which has a balanced approach to economic, employment and social policy
		A Europe where all members of society have access to affordable, high-quality social and health care services
		A Europe which promotes social/active inclusion and a society free of all forms of discrimination
		A Europe where the concepts of a More Social Europe and Decent Work and Quality Jobs is a reality for all - see our current campaign on Decent Work and Industrial Relations
