Education
OverviewSOLIDAR works to empower trade unionists, local activists and grassroot organistions through lifelong learning (education & training) in order to promote decent work, social cohesion and social inclusion for all. SOLIDAR's members provide lifelong learning and further education opportunities to socio-economic and culturally vulnerable groups such as young people, migrants, low skilled workers etc on a daily basis (examples of work).
Our member organisations are witnessing that the current austerity measures implemented by European governments are pulling down the social infrastructure that these vulnerable groups rely on and promoting atypical work, meaning that more and more people are finding themselves in vulnerable situations. Basing our work on values such as solidarity, we consider that more financial investment has to be made to enable the empowerment of socio-economic and culturally vulnerable groups.
Our objectives are:
-
To invest in skills and competences
-
To invest in the recognition of skills and competences
-
To promote learning mobility and contribute to the design of proper Quality Frameworks & Credit Systems supporting learning pathways
