Migration

Co-development

Migration and development, or 'co-development', is an emerging theme at both EU and global level. With members working on migration inside the EU and worldwide, SOLIDAR is well-placed to engage in the debate that is currently taking place on the issue of co-development, the concept that migration can benefit both the countries receiving and sending the migrant, as well as the migrant him or herself. In particular, SOLIDAR has been critical of the notion being put forward by some that remittances can replace aid as a source of development funding, as well as questioning the logic behind some of the arguments put forward in the cause of temporary migration.
