Social Policy

Social and health care services

SOLIDAR works to influence EU legislation in order to ensure the provision of affordable and high-quality social services, crucial for the development of social cohesion and safeguarding the fundamental rights of individual users.

What we do
Since 2005, SOLIDAR member organisations have carried out an assessment on how to modernise the services they offer, taking a proactive stance in shaping the future of social service provision in the EU. They believe that the right conditions and modalities for the organisation, regulation and financing must be put in place and implemented in a way which suits the specific characteristics of the not-for-profit social sector and their users.

Innovative Social Service
SOLIDAR is also collaborating in the creation of a social platform on innovative social services.

What we want
As we see in Gökhan's case, people with physical and mental disabilities need measures which support their self-determination and self-help. SOLIDAR would therefore like to see the recognition of the specific characteristics of personal social services and of their users, and that these specificities are reflected in an adapted legal framework at European and national level.
