SOLIDAR member organisations’ activities in the field of social policy

 
SOLIDAR’s members contribute to a social Europe through their daily work as civil society organisations and social service providers – in Europe and worldwide. As civil society organisations they contribute to the social cohesion of local communities and encourage civic engagement.
 
Members form platforms in which people organise themselves on local, regional, national and European level in order to be an active part of the society they live in. These platforms furthermore encourage the organisation of volunteer activities. Active citizenship being an important contribution to a cohesive society.

They are also important employers. As service providers, members of SOLIDAR organise accessible, affordable and high-quality social services close to people. The users of these services are both clients and partners in the provision of the service. Examples of services provided are: old people's homes, long-term care, adult education, child care services, services for homeless people, disabled people and migrants.
